Honor Wright

Honor Wright has been a Marie Curie Nurse for four years. The former District Nurse works in and around London.

She said: “As a District Nurse I worked with terminally ill patients and I loved the idea that I could get a Marie Curie Nurse for them. It meant so much to me, and for them, to be able to keep patients at home where they wanted to be.

“As soon as I retired from District Nursing I became a Marie Curie Nurse. The job is very flexible so it allows me to balance work, family and the 100 other things that occupy me.

“The best thing about the job is being with the patient at night, enabling the family to sleep so they can cope the next day. This is so crucial. Its real one-to-one nursing and it's free to patients and that's beautiful.”
