Everest Challenge site launches kids' section

The Everest Challenge website has launched a new kids’ section to allow Sir Ranulph Fiennes’ younger fans to follow his attempt on the mountain.

The pages feature extra Everest information, gory details on frostbite and even an interview with the expedition mascot, Stripey Mouse.

Stripey has been expedition leader Kenton Cool’s lifelong companion and has accompanied him on climbs all over the world.

Stripey said: “I am probably the world’s best travelled mouse, but would be interested to hear from any others who would like to challenge that claim!

“I have climbed Everest five times and made about 18 trips to the Himalayas and I have also travelled widely in North America and all over Europe.

“I am very happy to be raising money for such a good cause – as you can see I am wearing my Marie Curie Daffodil pin today.”

The full interview can be found in the kids’ section at www.everestchallenge.org.uk/kids
