Sir Ranulph was forced to turn back due to
exhaustion
Sir Ranulph was forced to turn back from his attempt to summit Everest by exhaustion.
He said: “I wanted an extra day to recover in Camp 4 but the weather was bad so we were told to go for it straight away.
“We left camp at 8.30pm in the evening but by the time I got past, what I would describe as 600 metres and three frozen dead bodies, I realised that I was too tired to continue.”
For the full story, including a video interview following the attempt, see the Everest Challenge website.
