Tea parties are blooming great

The nation will soon be awash with tea as Marie Curie Cancer Care launches the Blooming Great Tea Party.

Supporters are being invited to hold a tea party for the charity, preferably between June 12 and July 12.

A special fundraising pack is available for everyone who signs up, which includes tea party ideas, invitations, posters and stickers.

A Blooming Great Tea Party area has also been launched on the Marie Curie Cancer Care website, which includes a tea quiz, tips on how to make the perfect brew and an interactive game that will put a stop to any squabbling over whose turn it is to make tea.

Entitled Whose round is it?, the game invites users to add the names of work colleagues or friends to a virtual tea round. Each player is allocated a named tea cup and a centrally located teapot then spins to reveal the name of the person who must make the tea.

Community Fundraising Development Team member Danielle Larner said: “We hope the whole nation will raise their cups and join in this excellent way to mark our 60th anniversary. It’s something that everyone can do.”
