Glasgow hospice images unveiled

As work starts on the site of the new Marie Curie Hospice in Glasgow, a set of artist’s impressions have been unveiled of how the finished building will look.

The new building will have 30 beds, with single rooms for patients, as well as extensive space for day services, education and training.

Builders have almost completed preparation work on the site.

Capital Projects Manager Simon Whelan said: “Technically, this is the most complex and difficult job Marie Curie has ever taken on.

“It’s a steeply sloping site, and we’re building our biggest hospice on it.

“It will be worth it though, it will be a fantastic hospice for patient, visitors and staff alike.”

The building is being funded by the Big Build Appeal, which still needs to raise £6 million to reach its target.
