ING New York marathon 2008
They joined 39,500 runners for a 4.00am start, and their efforts have already resulted in £52,000 being banked for the charity.
Runs and Special Projects Event Manager Pat Darling said: “The ING New York Marathon 2008 was held on a windy, cold but beautiful sunny autumn day.
“A record number of runners took part, and were spurred on by the news that Paula Radcliffe had won the women’s event in two hours 23 minutes and 56 seconds.
“Our runners came from every one of the six Marie Curie Cancer Care regions. Despite a very early start, they had a great day, and a great run.”
“I’d like to thank all of our runners and their supporters who made it out to New York, who have helped raise a fantastic amount for the charity.”
