The document looks at how the charity has improved services to patients and families over the year.
Assistant Director of Clinical Governance Ruth Liley said: “We’ve done a lot to improve our services, and this report picks out the highlights. We also demonstrate the effect that we are having – there are comments from patients and families throughout the report.
“There are examples of how we have improved things from all areas of caring services, right across the UK.
“We look at our care for non-cancer patients, in particular the Better Together project with the British Heart Foundation.
“We also look at how we are tackling many of the same problems as the NHS – including patient falls and infection control. The report shows how we are taking very proactive steps to improve things in these areas, and that we can demonstrate results.”
In previous years, the document was known as the Clinical Governance report and featured extensive technical jargon.
“This year’s is a report for many purposes – it needs to be clear and in plain language for the public, and contain information for NHS commissioners,” Ruth said.
