Reports and accounts

Marie Curie Cancer Care is a registered charity and relies on the generosity of the public to fund its services.

In the financial year 2007/08, charitable expenditure increased by 14% to £77.2 million, reflecting:

  • a 15% increase in hours of care provided by the Marie Curie Nursing Service;
  • an increase of £1.2 million in our investment in the Delivering Choice Programme;
  • a 5% increase in expenditure on Marie Curie Hospices
  • a 6% increase in expenditure on scientific research

The charity’s reserves are the equivalent of three months’ operating expenditure for 2008/09.
