Adrian has been a Consultant Physician in palliative medicine at the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust and Medical Director, Marie Curie Hospice, Hampstead, since 1986. Since December 2005 he has been Medical Director of the Royal Free Hampstead NHS trust, responsible for cancer, haematology, neurosciences, pathology and radiology services.
He is the Trust Lead for clinical governance and interdisciplinary working.Adrian is Honorary Senior Lecturer, Royal Free and University College Medical School, and Clinical Advisor of the Marie Curie Palliative Care Research Unit based at UCL.He has a large in-patient and out-patient clinical practice serving the palliative care needs of patients with both cancer and non-cancer in the Trust, hospice and in the community. He also runs a chronic pain clinic.Adrian is Past President of the Palliative Care Section at the Royal Society of Medicine and a member of the National Cancer Research Institute Palliative Care Clinical Studies Development Group and Co-Chairman of the North London Palliative and Supportive Care Network.Principal research interests include rehabilitation in palliative care, palliative needs of patients with chronic conditions other than cancer, and long term use of opioids in chronic pain.You can contact him on 020 7853 3433.
