Give More is a 12 month campaign to encourage people to share their passion for the causes they care about by making a public commitment to give more money, time or energy in the next year and to get us all talking more about giving.
Independent of government, Give More is funded through Pears Foundation with support from individual ambassadors, companies, charities and the public sector. Fiona Leishman, of Marie Curie Patron Development, said: “Give More is a national campaign that will run in 2012 to encourage people to make a pledge to give more of their energy, time or money to the causes they care about most. “The ethos of the campaign is that most people can give a little more of some of these, and the hoped for outcome is that we see a surge in giving so that charities and good causes receive the help they so urgently need. “The inspiration for the campaign was born out of the work of the independent Philanthropy Review chaired by Tom Hughes-Hallett last year. Give More is being funded and driven by Trevor Pears of the Pears Foundation, who worked closely with Tom in the run-up to publication of the Review’s findings last June. Mr Pears is also a supporter of Marie Curie.”
