There are a number of volunteering events and recruitment fairs across the country throughout the year.

CSV Make a Difference Day, the UK's largest volunteering day, took place on October 29, 2011
Each year Make a Difference Day is held to encourage people to volunteer their time for a good cause. Individuals, schools, community groups, universities and companies across the UK give their time to help make a difference in their communities.
We invited MPs to volunteer in one of our Marie Curie shops for the day, to encourage members of their local community to give shop volunteering a go. Fifty-five MPs rolled up their sleeves to serve customers and help behind the scenes.
Angus MP, Mike Weir, did a stint at our Arbroath shop. He commented: "The shop raises a substantial amount of money for Marie Curie Cancer Care and can help to make a real difference to those living with cancer. None of this would be possible without the unstinting work of the volunteers and the generosity of local people in both donating to and using the shop."
Mr Weir added, "I hope many more people will consider volunteering to make a difference in our local communities."
You can read more about MP Mike Weir's experience at our Marie Curie shop in the Arbroath Herald.
