Nurses Lorna, Catherine and Franky discuss what patients and families should expect when receiving a visit from a Marie Curie Nurse or Senior Healthcare Assistant.
Lorna stresses the need for good communication. She says: "On a first visit the nurse will spend a lot of time just getting to know the patient, introducing herself and the charity so that they build up a rapport and trust."
Franky, who works in the South East, says it is remarkable to see how quickly it is possible to build a relationship with a patient.
And Catherine adds: "We do appreciate that it takes courage for a family to let a stranger into their home but I think most of us would agree that we always leave as friends."
