You can come and see us to find information about any aspect of your illness or the services available. Carers are welcome too.

Complementary therapies

Sessions available Monday – Friday, from 10am – 3.30pm.

Our wide range of safe and natural complementary therapies do not replace traditional care, but people often comment on their relaxing qualities and overall benefits. Sessions are open to carers too.

Therapies include: acupuncture, aromatherapy, reflexology, reiki, and relaxation.

Breathe Better

For people with breathing difficulties associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

These sessions are available on Monday, from 12.30pm – 3pm.

This eight-week course involves an exercise programme to help you breathe more easily. It also includes presentations from a physiotherapist, medical consultant, specialist nurse and psychologist to help you understand your condition and manage your symptoms.

At the end of the course you can continue to come to the hospice to meet others and exercise on a weekly or monthly basis at a follow up group which meets on Mondays, 11.30am - 1.30pm.

Heart failure groups

This course runs on alternate Friday afternoons between 1pm - 3pm.

Supported by a British Heart Foundation nurse specialist, this course offers two different groups for you to choose from:

  • Group A involves an exercise programme and presentations from different health professionals to help you understand your illness and manage your symptoms.
  • Group B involves an exercise programme and a chance to meet other people in a similar situation.

Art group

This group takes place on Monday, from 10am – 12 noon and Wednesday, from 10am – 12 noon.

You can create your own artwork using different media, from woodwork to oil paint and water colours. No experience required.

Intravenous infusions and blood transfusions

This service can be accessed on Monday – Friday, from 9am – 4pm.

If you normally receive bisphosphonate infusions or blood transfusions in hospital you can have them here at the hospice instead.

During your visit you can also take advantage of our facilities and services including our complementary therapies.

Chaplaincy

Our chaplain holds a service on Wednesdays at 11am and once a month on a Thursday.

We can also contact a faith leader of your choice.
