Talk to your doctor

  • If you think you might have cancer or another serious illness it is important that you talk to your GP about how you think your health has changed. For more advice, please read our guide on how to prepare for an appointment, which you can download at the bottom of this page.
  • If you've been diagnosed with cancer or another life limiting illness and want further information or don’t understand your diagnosis it is important that you speak to your doctor and ask them to explain again. Other organisations that can offer information or support include Macmillan Cancer Support and NHS choices.

Preparing for your appointment

Talking to your GP can be very daunting especially if you are concerned about your health. The checklist in this guide may help you prepare.
