Where your money goes

Patient and nurseThe support we received meant that in 2013-14 a total of 40,884 people were given the choice of where and how to spend their final days. They, and we, cannot thank you enough. But please don't stop there.

We need to raise £10,000 every hour of every day to carry on our work

Marie Curie has nearly 2,000 nurses in the UK and last year they worked for 1.32 million hours caring for terminally ill patients.

We also have nine hospices and are the biggest provider of hospice beds outside the NHS. In total, Marie Curie spends over £106 million a year on providing nursing and hospice care; research into better ways of caring for people; and work to improve care and support across the UK. The figure is overwhelming, but so is the comfort that the money can provide.

Please keep helping us to help even more people. Thank you.

The nurses are such amazing people. They did everything they could for my dad... thanks to all. Mrs C, BradfordOnly had the service for a short time, but it was worth more than you can ever know to us. Mr P, Nottinghamshire
