The support we received meant that in 2013-14 a total of 40,884 people were given the choice of where and how to spend their final days. They, and we, cannot thank you enough. But please don't stop there.
Marie Curie has nearly 2,000 nurses in the UK and last year they worked for 1.32 million hours caring for terminally ill patients.
We also have nine hospices and are the biggest provider of hospice beds outside the NHS. In total, Marie Curie spends over £106 million a year on providing nursing and hospice care; research into better ways of caring for people; and work to improve care and support across the UK. The figure is overwhelming, but so is the comfort that the money can provide.
