Day 1 – Friday June 25, 2010
Grange over Sands to Hawes - 41 miles
We start our Coast to Coast journey from Grange over Sands, riding across Southern Lakeland towards the Yorkshire Dales. A mixture of on and off road sections will take us to Hawes in the heart of Wensleydale.
We stop in Hawes for the night. The thriving market town of Hawes is home to Wensleydale Cheese and the Dales Countryside Museum, which lies in the path of the Pennine Way. The name, Hawes, means a 'pass between mountains', and it stands between Buttertubs and Fleet Moss.
Day 2 – Saturday June 26, 2010
Hawes to Osmotherley - 51 miles
We ride down Wensleydale towards the rich farmland and flatter plains around Northallerton, heading for the village of Osmotherley. Some flatter terrain, but still some uphill and off road challenges.
Osmotherley is located in the North York Moors National Park and is a truly charming, picturesque village unchanged by the sands of time.
Day 3 – Sunday June 27, 2010
Osmotherley to Scarborough - 58 miles
We head towards and across the upland block of the North York Moors. Some spectacular off road sections will reward you with great moorland views, ansd a real sense of achievement, then it's downhill to the East Coast and Scarborough.
