Your journey to the summit of Snowdon, the highest mountain in England and Wales, uses the Llanberis path starting from the Victoria Hotel. The path slowly circles towards the top passing through the dramativ Rocky Valley and foreboding cliffs of Clogwyn Du’r Arddu.
One of the best viewing points is just after the Snowdon Mountain Railway bridge. The valley here is called “Hetiau” in Welsh – of the Valley of the Hats after the number blown from the heads of people at this location. The summit itself is a steep walk from here, but before long you emerge onto Snowdon’s shoulder and a final climb to the top, giving commanding views of all around the mountain.
