Day 1 – Kiruna, Lapland
- On leaving Heathrow airport you’ll fly via Stockholm to Kiruna in Lapland.
- During your first day you’ll have the chance to settle and warm up at your hotel, meet your fellow trekkers, take a walk around Kiruna and loosen those muscles.
- Afterward it’s back to your hotel to prepare for tomorrow’s snowshoe adventure.
Day 2 – Kiruna
- Today you’ll have your first snowshoe lesson and then the chance to explore the forest region of Jukkasjarvi.
- You’ll be trekking for about 8km over six to eight hours. Once you’ve grasped the skill of snowshoeing you’ll be able to discover parts of the wilderness that you would normally have difficulty reaching.
- Watch out for rare glimpses of wolverine, lynx, moose and elk.
- During your day of snowshoeing a hot lunch will be provided.
Day 3 – Kiruna
- Today you’ll have a full day of snowshoeing spread over five or six hours, covering 11km in the high mountain area.
- Today will challenge your muscles, especially your legs and arms, and it will be a chance to put your snowshoeing training into action.
- The more active you are the more you’ll keep your body temperature up.
- Also on the agenda today is your chance to try the ancient survival technique of ice fishing.
- You’ll end your day at the famous Ice Hotel with a drink at the Ice Bar, before returning to your hotel.
Day 4 – Return home via Stockholm
- Take the charter bus to Kiruna Airport in the morning and fly back to Heathrow via Stockholm.
