Did you trek in memory of someone?
I trekked in memory of my aunt.
Best memory from the trip?
I have two! The first sighting of Machu Picchu from the Sun Gate and partying that night!
Are you planning to meet up with fellow trekkers?
We have held two official reunions since the trip (combining trekking and eating!) and more are planned.
Any lows?
Mingling with tourists at Machu Picchu after four days of peace and quiet to enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
Would you do it again?
I would certainly recommend it to anyone, but for me it was a ‘one off' and for a particular person. A bonus was how much fun it was and all the friends that I have made.
Advice to other trekkers:
Getting to a reasonable level of fitness makes the trekking much more enjoyable. Although I coped very well, I struggled on the difficult days and consequently didn't take many photographs. I could have done a lot more training and in hindsight wish that I had.
