Bridget joined the unit in January 2007. Her main role is in the generation of Cochrane Systematic reviews in the area of palliative care. Bridget is also undertaking part-time doctoral studies exploring methods in incorporating other evidence within an effectiveness review.
Bridget has worked within health services research for the last decade. Her main interests are in secondary research methodology, in particular how best to review the evidence on effectiveness of healthcare for patients living with severe, progressive diseases.
Bridget is currently working on several reviews. These include the effectiveness of enteral feeding for patients with dementia, interventions to support informal caregivers of patients in the terminal phase of a disease, spiritual interventions for patients in the terminal phase of a disease, what are the side effects of opioid therapy and how to manage the side effects of opioid therapy.
