Director of Policy and Research  Dr Sam Royston said:
"We warmly welcome the appointment of Stephen Kinnock as the new Minister of State for Care taking responsibility for palliative and end of life care, at a time when the need for action could not be more urgent.
"More than nine in ten of the people who die each year could benefit from palliative care, but too many of them are missing out on the support they need – too often dying in avoidable pain, in poverty, and alone.
"There is a lot of work for the new Minister to do to fix end of life care – Marie Curie stand ready to work closely with the Government to deliver the change, and new solutions, urgently needed to improve end of life experience for everyone."
