How your support helps

Cancer claims the lives of more than 150,000 people every year.

Groups and associations - people supporting each other - register your supportMarie Curie Cancer Care provides high quality nursing care and emotional support, totally free to families affected by cancer.

We believe that everybody deserves the best quality of life - to the very last moment. Our Marie Curie Nurses make it possible for people with cancer to be cared for in the comfortable and familiar surroundings of their own home rather than go into hospital.

We would like to give more people this choice. With the support of your group or association we can.

Every penny you raise counts. Here are some of the ways your support will help:

  • £20 pays for a Marie Curie Nurse for one hour in a patient's home
  • £100 would pay for attendance at a Day Therapy Unit for one day in a Marie Curie Hospice
  • £160 pays for a full shift for a Marie Curie Nurse in a patient's home
  • £400 pays for Marie Curie Cancer care's contribution to the cost of caring for an in-patient in a hospice for a day
  • £1,700 will cover the cost of Marie Curie Cancer Care's nationwide nursing service for one hour
  • £2,160 will enable Marie Curie Cancer Care to pay for a Marie Curie Nurse to complete a full degree course for the BSc (Hons) Degree in Cancer and Palliative Care
