Morris Minor Owners' Club

A classic year of fundraising: In 1998 the Morris Minors Owners' Club joined forces with Marie Curie Cancer Care for a year's worth of fun and memorable fundraising, in which a classic Morris Minor was driven across the UK before being finally raffled off.

The Minor made appearances at local shows across the country, even taking part in the Lord Mayor's Parade. Local Morris Minor Owners' Club and Marie Curie Cancer Care offices teamed together and scores of events took place throughout the year which saw cars filled with daffodils, nurses in cars and lots of activity at our annual Ladies' Driving Challenge.

The Morris Minor Owners' Club, or MMOC, was founded in 1976 and today boasts 14,500 members. Based in Derby, it has members as far a field as Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Asia, Europe and the United States! The MMOC exists to unite people with a fondness for both Minis and Morris Minors, and who use them as every day transport.

As well as providing technical support, this organisation is made up of great fundraisers who organise over 50 events each calendar year, including competitions, auto jumbles, trade strands, social meetings, rallies, trips to Europe in your Minors, and parties.

With 60 branches, they are well placed in the local community, and their branches are the lifeblood of the club. Monthly meetings are held (usually down the local), where members can meet other like-minded enthusiasts, have a beer and swap stories.

Thank you to Morris Minor Owners' Club for a fantastic year of fundraising!
