Who can volunteer?
Anyone can volunteer although certain roles do carry a minimum age requirement.
If you are under 18, we require written permission form a parent or guardian.
Volunteers under 16 must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
What benefits will I gain?
Volunteering is a hugely rewarding experience. It gives you the opportunity to donate your skills and talents to help a worthwhile cause.
Not only that, but you will have lots of fun in a supportive environment with the satisfaction of knowing you are making a valuable contribution to your local community.
How much time do I need to give?
That really depends on what you choose to do.
Volunteer roles such as stewarding at sponsored walks, supporting our street collections and fundraising, are very flexible.
Other roles such as working in a shop or hospice often require a regular time commitment. This will be explained in your volunteer role description.
Remember, many of our existing volunteers prove it is entirely possible to slot regular volunteering into a busy lifestyle. All you need is lots of enthusiasm and a little planning.
Will I be interviewed?
Most of our volunteer roles require an interview. This is usually just an informal chat to make sure we have found the right opportunity for you.
How will I be supported?
All our volunteers receive our full support and guidance. You will be fully supervised and will receive regular feedback and training for your role, where appropriate.
