Working Wonders - winter update 2008

Calling all modern day superheroes (or Working Wonders as we like to call them) - we need your help to raise as much money as humanly possible to continue the work of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Working Wonders superhero - will you be one?

We need your help - urgently

Charity often begins at work, so whether you work in an office, a cafe, a shop, a factory (or wherever you may work), we are asking you to donate some of your time to Marie Curie Cancer Care.

If you know someone with special powers of communication, the capacity to give up some of their time to help others, and the ability to organise fundraising events at work, then get them to join us today, we could really do with your support.

Three ways to be a superhero this winter:

1. Brand new Christmas Catalogue

Christmas catalogue items

The perfect place to start your Christmas shopping - there are a great range of value-for-money cards, stocking fillers and luxury gift ideas. Every item you buy helps our nurses care for even more terminally ill patients, so start shopping today. Alternatively send all your work colleagues one of our Christmas eCards. Each one is unique, so you won’t find them anywhere else. Please help to spread the word by emailing this link to your colleagues: www.mariecurie.org.uk/supportus/shopping

2. Hold Your Own Christmas Party

A great way to socialise with friends before the festivities begin. Cook a meal and invite your friends – for a price! You could also run a mini-raffle or auction during dinner to provide additional entertainment and raise money. Don’t forget that every £20 raised provides one hour of nursing care. www.mariecurie.org.uk/supportus/organise_your_own_fundraising_event/

3. Recycling

Do you want to do your bit for the environment? Now you are back from your summer holidays why not hand in your unwanted foreign coins at your local Marie Curie office, shop or hospice. For more information on how to recycle please visit: www.mariecurie.org.uk/recycling
