What to do when the Marie Curie Nurse arrives
We understand how confusing it can be to have many strangers visiting your home to provide care and assistance
Our Marie Curie Nurses must always show their ID card when they arrive for a shift, and wear their uniform and name badge.
They should also leave a visiting card with their name after every visit.
If a Marie Curie Nurse does not show their ID card, is not wearing a name badge or does not leave a visiting card, please ask them to do so.
Please introduce the nurse to the patient and tell them by what name the patient wishes to be called. Do also tell the nurse how you would like to be addressed.
Tell the nurse if the patient has any likes and dislikes, and if they have any special names for things (especially if the patient is confused).
Please show the nurse where they can wash their hands and where they can find your bathroom.
