Help the Hospices report

Help the Hospices has published a report giving examples of projects which involve Marie Curie Cancer Care and independent hospices working together successfully.

This report looks at three examples of collaboration between hospices and Marie Curie:

  • St Joseph’s in Hackney (which includes some collaboration with Richard House)

  • St Barnabas in Lincoln

  • Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice

It gives an overview of how this collaboration has developed over the years, based on interviews with chief executives and others at the hospices, and gives Marie Curie a very positive report.

The report follows the signing of a joint memorandum of understanding by the two charities. The memorandum commits them to exploring areas in which Help the Hospices and Marie Curie can collaborate in patients’ interests, for example by Help the Hospices helping Marie Curie to collaborate with independent hospices to improve services. The charities are also collaborating on policy.
