Team Marie Curie: unstoppable in May

Team Marie Curie in May

Team Marie Curie, our unstoppable team of supporters are relentless in taking on some of the toughest physical challenges all in support of Marie Curie. And in May, things were no different.

In April we were overwhelmed by our team of runners, swimmers, cyclists, trekkers and everyone in between as they racked up an incredible 60,551 miles.

If we were overwhelmed in April, we are blown away in May, as Team Marie Curie went more than double the distance, notching up a monumental 123,541 miles.

With that type of effort and dedication there is only one thing we can say – thank you! Thank you to our runners who in May covered an unbelievable 40,314 miles – the equivalent of travelling from London to Sydney four times.

Thank you to our cyclists who covered some of the toughest terrain around Europe, racking up 81,687 miles on the distance gauge.

That’s 530,966 laps of the London Olympic Velodrome. Thank you to our walkers and trekkers who in May not only took on some of the UK’s longest routes, but also conquered the Great Wall of China, amassing 1,540 miles – the equivalent of walking between all nine of the Marie Curie Hospices.

Thank you to every member of Team Marie Curie, you have made a huge difference in helping to care for people living with a terminal illness. If you’re inspired to join Team Marie Curie, then see our website and find a challenge to suit you.
