The Marie Curie Hospice, Hampstead throw a Blooming Great Tea Party
Yesterday the Marie Curie Hospice, Hampstead kickstarted this year’s Blooming Great Tea Party with a cake-decorating masterclass from our Tea Party Queen – Suzy Pelta.
During this very special lunch hour everyone at the hospice was invited to try their hand at the intricate art of cupcake decorating. There were many fantastic designs such as the Marie Curie daffodil, a tree from the hospice’s garden and a Union Jack.
Before the event Tea Party Queen Suzy Pelta, was given a tour of the hospice. She said:
“Visiting Hampstead Hospice was both a wonderful and humbling experience. It was a privilege to see first-hand the difference that Marie Curie makes to so many people. I am more determined than ever to make sure that my Blooming Great Tea Party raises lots of money for the charity.”
The Blooming Great Tea Party is one of our biggest annual fundraising events, with people getting together with friends and familiy to have a blooming great time while supporting Marie Curie. Arlene Main, Fundraising Manager at the hospice, is a tea party veteran. She said:
“The Blooming Great Tea Party is such a wonderful event. It’s very social and it’s easy for everyone to get involved. Every year it’s one of the most popular events at the hospice – who doesn’t like a bit of cake and a cup of tea? I think what makes it so great is how easy it is to throw your own tea party.”
The day was enjoyed by all, from staff and volunteers to family and friends, as everyone tried to outdo each other to claim the title of the best cupcake decorator. Below are a few pictures from the event.
