The unstoppable Team Marie Curie

Team Marie Curie in April

Introducing Team Marie Curie. Our fantastic and courageous band of brilliant supporters who push themselves to the limits by taking on some of the toughest physical challenges, all in support of Marie Curie.
Our team is made up of swimmers, runners, trekkers, cyclists, walkers and everyone in between. And this April, as temperatures rose, our team was out in force covering a staggering 60,551 miles whilst raising money to help our nurses care for more people living with terminal illnesses - and we want to say a big thank you. Thank you to our runners who in April stampeded their way around the UK, notching up an amazing 11,349 miles – the equivalent of running from Edinburgh to London 28 times. Thank you to our swimmers who in just one weekend during our Swimathon event took to the water and covered a phenomenal 48,112 miles, the equivalent of swimming around the world twice. Thank you to our trekkers who in April powered themselves across some of the world’s toughest terrains to amass an incredible 1,050 miles, the same as climbing up Mount Everest 84 times. So whether you contributed one of those miles, or 156 of them (thank you Sir Ranulph!) you have made a huge difference to help people living with a terminal illness. If you’re inspired to join Team Marie Curie and help add to this total, then see our website and find a challenge to suit you.
