Want to beat the winter blues? Become a Marie Curie volunteer!
It’s that time of year again. The summer days are drawing to a close, nights are getting longer and there is a distinct chilliness in the air. You may be feeling the end-of-summer blues – but don’t despair! There are plenty of exciting volunteering opportunities available here at Marie Curie to keep you busy throughout the colder months.
We hope you’ll find an opportunity that is just right for you. Below are just a few examples of the many roles available:
- Marie Curie Helpers: Our Marie Curie Helper volunteers are specially trained to provide companionship and support to people living with a terminal illness. This is the perfect role for those who are able to commit to regular volunteering, have a wealth of patience and empathy and the ability to build strong relationships with others.
- Volunteer in our shops: As a shop volunteer you could help with the day-to-day running of one of our charity shops, with a small, friendly team and interesting, varied responsibilities. Tasks include customer service, merchandising and quality-checking donations. If you love working as part of a team and with the public, this could be the role for you.
- Interns and office volunteers: If you are looking to gain office experience, or have admin skills you wish to share, why not become an intern or office volunteer? You’ll be a part of one of our vibrant office teams and help to support people living with a terminal illness.
- Fundraising groups: Across the country, local fundraising groups are raising money for Marie Curie in fun and original ways. Joining a fundraising group is a great way to support our work and to meet some wonderful new people along the way.
