What to do with old glasses - recycle

If you’ve worn glasses for a few years, you’ve probably got a few pairs that have an old prescription. Those glasses don’t need to be cluttering up your drawers – you can now recycle spectacles with Marie Curie.

Marie Curie is supporting Lions Clubs International in recycling old glasses for people who need them in communities across Africa, India and Eastern Europe. All our shops will have boxes where spectacles can be dropped off for spectacle recycling.

Lions Clubs have been in partnership with Marie Curie for the past four years and have helped us with Great Daffodil Appeal collections. To date they’ve help us raise over £700,000.

You can get involved by donating any old glasses you have to your nearest Marie Curie Charity Shop, and by encouraging your friends and family to take part.
