Marie Curie Nurses provide hands-on care and emotional support, enabling people living with a terminal illness to be cared for at home, surrounded by their loved ones and the things they cherish the most. We support people across the whole of the UK, so wherever your university is, there will be a Marie Curie Nurse caring for someone nearby. We care for people of all ages, they can be 99 or 19, and many of our patients and carers have been studying at university when Marie Curie Nurses have cared for them or someone in their family.
Richard was 24 years old when he was admitted to a Marie Curie Hospice and studying for a master's degree in sports science during his treatment.
Ellie is currently studying at the University of York and is supporting this partnership by donating £5 for every goal she scores for the university football team, all in memory of loved ones .
Universities from across the UK are participating in fundraising, volunteering and bespoke university events to support people with a terminal illness and gain points for the sought-after Marie Curie Champions trophy, which will be awarded at the beginning of July 2016. Below are links to support your fundraising, but if you need anything further then please speak to your local Marie Curie Fundraising contact.
