Thank you to everyone who took part in this year's Swimathon challenge on 7 - 9 April at over 600 pools across the UK. We hope you had a great time swimming and raising money for Marie Curie.

What’s Swimathon?

It’s a UK-wide swimming challenge that’s been raising money for charity for 30 years. And this year, it’s raising money for Marie Curie.

Do I need to be a great swimmer?

Swimathon is for swimmers of all ages and abilities. If you can swim, you can take part!

How far do I need to swim?

Your choice: swim 1.5k, 2.5k or 5k as an individual or 1.5k or 5k as part of a team.

When and where can I swim?

Swimathon takes place between 7 - 9 April 2017 at more than 600 pools. Find one near you when you register.

Where can I sign up?

Register at Swimathon’s website. It only takes a few minutes.

What if I can’t find a pool near me or take part during the Swimathon weekend?

Sign up for the SimplySwim challenge and choose where, when and how far you swim.

Why I'm swimming for Marie Curie

"For two years, Marie Curie was a wonderful support to the family and to my mother. During remission, Mum was more like her old self and really embraced life.

"One of the things that’s really good about Swimathon is that, even if you’re doing it by yourself, there are other people there with the same sort of motivation and the sense of why you're all doing it is very strong. It really is a very fun thing to do and there's a great sense of achievement afterwards."
