Thank you to everyone who took part in Walk to Remember, Tyne and Wear for Marie Curie. We hope you enjoyed it and had a great night. Your fundraising is helping our nurses give vital care for people living with a terminal illness across the UK.

Did you reach your target? If not, there' still time - take our fundraising challenge to see how much you could raise!

Join thousands of people walking in memory of someone they love or simply come along to support Marie Curie at Walk to Remember Tyne and Wear.

Do your walk in pairs or groups and enjoy the evening, the memories and the walking itself with your friends and family. It’s a way of doing something great while celebrating a loved one. And at 10km long, or just over 6 miles, the walks are suitable for people of all abilities and ages, and you won’t need to spend weeks in training either.

Gain exclusive access to this amazing National Trust property at Gibside whilst fundraising for Marie Curie. Explore the woodland and enjoy Gibside's riverside 10k evening walk as the sun sets over the stunning Derwent Valley.

After completing the walk, settle down and enjoy the festival-like celebrations with live music, entertainment and the Walk to Remember fireworks at 10pm. The fireworks coincide with the time many Marie Curie Nurses start their night shift, providing care to people with terminal illnesses and their families in their own homes. Whether you’re walking in memory, fundraising for us or both, we’d love you to come along.

Please be aware there is limited parking available at this venue.

Your £10 registration fee includes a T-shirt and entry fee to the venue. All proceeds go to Marie Curie.

Helping to provide even more care

This was a fantastic event and the easiest most enjoyable way of raising money for an excellent cause. I'll be making this an annual event with my family and friends.

We hope each of our walkers can raise £100. This will pay for five hours of care. You don’t need to have completed your fundraising before your walk - you can keep on raising money after and pay it in whenever you’re ready. We’ve got some resources to help you out on our Walk to Remember pages.

And remember, every additional £20 you raise will provide another hour of care so we can help more people living with a terminal illness and provide support for their families.

Sorry, online registration is no longer available for this event. Please contact us on events@mariecurie.org.uk or call us on 0845 052 4184.
