Edinburgh Airport “Hairy Hikers”
A team of 15 ‘Hairy Hikers’ from Edinburgh Airport have been baking cakes, climbing mountains, cycling, entering the 5K Pretty Muddy, and coughing up cash every time they curse to raise money for Marie Curie.
The total raised reached a phenomenal £8,464 which will pay for Christmas Day at the Marie Curie Hospice, Edinburgh.
Georgie McBroom from Edinburgh Airport said:
“We set up the Hairy Hikers because we wanted to get fit and have fun – and also to raise money for the amazing service Marie Curie provides.
“The Hairy Hikers are immensely proud of what we have achieved for Marie Curie this year, and the amount we managed to raise far exceeded any of our expectations. We hope the staff, volunteers, and the people they will be supporting have a lovely Christmas Day at the hospice.”
