DWF supports the hospice on 21 November 2016

Legal business DWF’s Newcastle office has sponsored the Marie Curie Hospice, Newcastle’s ‘Pay for a Day’ appeal on 21 November 2016, supporting patients by paying for 24 hours of care.

DWF’s support of the Pay for a Day appeal on the 21 November was in memory of Dave Hudson, the husband of a DWF colleague, Lorraine, who sadly lost his battle with cancer on 21 November 2014. A number of DWF’s people visited the hospice on the day to show their support and witness the care and compassion that staff members at the hospice provide to each patient.

It was very humbling to support the hospice, recognising the outstanding levels of kindness and care that the staff at Marie Curie offer to people living with terminal illness and their families at what must be incredibly difficult times. In the Newcastle office and in DWF as a firm we take great pride in our CSR programme. The programme is assisted greatly by the work of the DWF Foundation, which along with various fundraising activities helps to raise funds for local charities.”
Adam Heather, Executive Partner at DWF’s Newcastle office
We are all very grateful to receive such generous support from DWF. The donation of £6584 will fund the hospice for 24 hours, enabling our specialist teams to provide expert care and support to patients and families from across the region. I know the date had significant meaning for DWF, marking the 21 November as a way to remember Dave Hudson. On behalf of our patients and families, thank you for this wonderful contribution to our work. We’d love to hear from more companies like DWF who could help support our local fundraising appeal in also Pay for a Day at our Newcastle hospice.
