Solihull Ball - 26th, 27th and 28th January 2016
The Solihull Ball in 2015 gave us the opportunity, as a community, to celebrate the Marie Curie Hospice, West Midlands and the wonderful work they do, alongside raising enough money to pay for three days worth of care at the hospice.
Built only a few years ago and aided by the fundraising efforts and financial support of so many of us, the hospice is a cornerstone of our local community.
Because of this, it seemed fitting to hold an event at the St Johns Hotel in Solihull where over 400 guests could come together and support its ongoing needs.
A wonderful evening was had by all, with the generous fundraising of the guests and volunteers significantly enhanced by our sponsors Free Radio, Kiely Bros, Pertemps, and Tilney BestInvest. Alongside this we also received invaluable support from the St Johns Hotel, Genting International Casino at Resorts World Birmingham, band House of Chords, DJ Jack Berry, and compere John (JD) Dalziel.
Guests at the Solihull Ball also heard from our wonderful speaker, Alix Moore. It is particularly fitting that the last of the three days worth of hospice care is the 28 January, which falls on the birthday of Alix's husband Chris, who was looked after so wonderfully by the nurses and staff of the Marie Curie Hospice, West Midlands.
