Health and safety

We want you to have fun and enjoy your fundraising activities, so it’s important you or your group takes all the necessary precautions to make it safe for everyone.

Keep your fundraising safe

For each of your fundraising events, there are certain measures you need to consider to ensure it is safe for all involved. On this page, you’ll find key documents to help you. You can also find full health and safety processes in the Safe and Legal chapter of the Fundraising Group Handbook.

Event Activity Plan

An activity plan should be part of the planning for your event and it’s important to choose someone to be responsible for managing the event/activity, as well as carrying out all the health and safety checks.

A key part of an event being successful is effective safety and insurance management, so you’ll also need to consider whether any third-party documents are needed for your event. You can read more on this in the activity plan guidance.

It’s important that any incidents or near misses are raised with your Volunteer Manager. Find out more in our Fundraising Group Handbook.
