Take a closer look at how Covid-19 has affected dying, death and bereavement in the UK over the past year.
On 23 March, we came together to reflect on our collective loss, support those who’ve been bereaved, and hope for a brighter future.
We understand that families want to be with their loved ones when they’re admitted to a Marie Curie hospice, and under normal circumstances we support open visiting. But, due to the increasing numbers of people affected by the coronavirus pandemic, we’re having to do things a little differently at the moment.
We’ve had to make some difficult decisions and we ask for your support, so we can we can protect patients, visitors and staff and continue to run as many services as possible. Over the coming days and weeks, we may need to make more changes in line with government advice. Please keep checking back if you're planning to use any of our services or hoping to visit the hospice.
Each of our hospices have worked with local healthcare partners to decide on what’s best. They’re all reviewing their visiting arrangements regularly:
Belfast
Bradford
Cardiff and the Vale
Edinburgh
Glasgow
Hampstead
Liverpool
Newcastle
West Midlands (Solihull)
If you're unable to visit the hospice, we will always do our very best to help with supporting video calls to your loved one. This should be discussed with the local hospice teams.
