Marie Curie New Balance kit prize draw terms and conditions'

We're so excited that you are registering to join the Marie Curie team. If you complete your registration by 23:59 on Friday 5th December you'll be entered into a prize draw to win an official New Balance kit with tops and leggings ("the Prizes"). This Prize Draw is free to enter, and no purchase is necessary. Entrants must hold a ballot place within the 2026 TCS London Marathon, and postal sends will only be eligible for those who reside at a valid address within the UK. Marie Curie reserves the right to refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.("The Prize Draw").

Terms and Conditions
1. The Prize draw opens on Friday 28th November 2025 and will close at 23:59 on Friday 5 December 2025 ("the Closing Date").
2. Entrants who register for the Marie Curie team in compliance with the Marie Curie TCS London Marathon terms and conditions will automatically be entered into the Prize Draw.
3. Entry into the Prize Draw is limited to one (1) entry per applicant. Marie Curie reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify anyone that enters the Prize Draw in contravention of these terms and conditions.
4. There will be one (1) winner who will win the Prize available.
5. No cash alternatives to the Prize is available. Marie Curie reserves the right to substitute the prize (or any part of them) for alternative prizes of equivalent or greater value if this is necessary for reasons beyond its reasonable control.
6. After the Closing Date the winner will be selected at random by computer from all eligible entries received by Marie Curie before the Closing Date.
7. Marie Curie will email the winner using the email address they provided when registering their interest to join the Marie Curie 2026 TCS London Marathon team from london.marathon@mariecurie.org.uk within 5 working days of the Closing Date to let them know they have won.
8. The winner will be required to validate their email address by 31 December 2025 before their Prize will be released to them.
9. The New Balance kit will be delivered by post to the Winner's valid address and postage will be covered by Marie Curie. Please be aware the official New Balance kit design is not announced until approximately March 2026, the winner will receive the kit in their chosen size once the kit has gone live. We will need a confirmed UK postal address for the New Balance kit to be sent.
10. Marie Curie will publish or make available the winner's title, first letter of surname and the town they live in. If you are selected as the winner you must notify Marie Curie immediately if you are not agreeable to this information being published or made available, or that you require the amount of information published or made available to be reduced. Please note Marie Curie may be required to provide the winner's surname, the county they live in and email address to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) to demonstrate that a valid draw has taken place, members that would not be agreeable to disclosure of this information to the ASA in the event they are the winner should not enter the Prize Draw.
11. If Marie Curie does not receive a response from the winner, or if the winner fails to validate their email address by 31 December 2025, we reserve the right, at our absolute discretion, to consider that winner to have forfeited the Prize and to withdraw the Prize entitlement of that person and award the prize to a reserve who will also have been drawn out in accordance with section 6 above.
12. Marie Curie accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering this Prize Draw or accepting the Prize. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude the liability of Marie Curie for death, personal injury, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation as a result of our negligence.
13. Any personal data that Marie Curie collect in connection with this Prize Draw will be processed in accordance with our privacy policy - https://www.mariecurie.org.uk/privacy.
14. Marie Curie reserves the right to withdraw or amend either the Prize Draw or these terms and conditions at any time, and without notice, if this is necessary for reasons beyond its reasonable control.
15. By entering the Prize Draw, you will be deemed to have read and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions.
16. The decision of Marie Curie is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Entries that do not comply with these terms and conditions will be invalid and disqualified.
17. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law and any disputes arising from these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Before you apply for one of our limited TCS London Marathon places, you must read and agree to the terms and conditions below. These terms are a fundraising agreement between you and Marie Curie.

Marie Curie has the right to change or update the terms and conditions at its discretion and participants are invited to regularly check this page for updates.

General

  • You understand that the event is not organised by Marie Curie, but by TCS London Marathon events.
  • You understand the TCS London Marathon Events have their own terms and conditions that you will need to agree to when registering (if successful in receiving a ballot place or charity place with Marie Curie).
  • If you are successful in securing a place through the application process, the registration fee of £75 is non-refundable and non- transferable this must be paid within seven days of verbally accepting your place with one of our team.
  • You understand that your registration data will be shared with the TCS London Marathon and their entry platform ("Lets do This") to provide race day information to you as a participant. This will be processed in accordance with their privacy policies. Please refer to the TCS London Marathon's website for information about their privacy policy.
  • You must agree to raise a minimum of £2,500 (excluding Gift Aid). All donations online and offline should be sent in no later than four weeks after the event.
  • By accepting a charity place, you understand that Marie Curie has the right (in its absolute discretion) to withdraw your place at any time if they consider that you are not committed to raising the pledged sponsorship or if you fail to comply with agreed obligations.
  • As set out in our privacy policy, the information you have provided Marie Curie will be treated accordingly.

Registration

  • Your £75 registration fee is non-refundable, and non-transferable and will not be counted towards your overall fundraising total.
  • You understand that your place cannot be transferred to another person or event.
  • You understand that in order to take part in the 2026 TCS London Marathon, you must also register with the London Marathon Events Ltd. Failure to complete the event organisers registration by any applicable deadline, will mean you are unable to participate in the event.

Minimum fundraising requirement

  • As a charity place runner, you pledge to raise a minimum of £2,500 in aid of Marie Curie (excluding Gift Aid) and understand that the aim of this event is to raise as much above the minimum fundraising target as possible.
  • You understand that all donations must be paid to Marie Curie by four weeks after the event (24 May 2026).
  • When confirming your charity place with Marie Curie, you agree to meet the following fundraising milestones. Failure to do so may result in Marie Curie withdrawing your charity place in the event.
    • If you've signed up as a charity place runner before 31 October, you will need to raise a minimum of 25% of your fundraising target (£625) by 5 January. 
    • If you've signed up as a charity place runner after 31 October, you will need to raise a minimum of 25% of your fundraising target (£625) within eight weeks of signing up to the event.
  • For all charity place runners, we require a minimum of 80% (£2,000) of your overall fundraising raised by race day.

Fundraising

  • You will only use lawful means to fundraise in aid of Marie Curie and will not do anything that harms or is likely to harm Marie Curie's reputation.
  • You will comply with any fundraising guidance or advise issued by Marie Curie.
  • You will make clear to everyone supporting your fundraising that you are raising funds 'in aid of' Marie Curie.
  • You understand that if you withdraw for any reason from the event (and are not deferring), any monies raise will be non-refundable and will be treated as a donation to Marie Curie.
  • You will pay all monies raised in connection to the London Marathon by one of the following means:
    • via an online fundraising platform (Enthuse, Just Giving)
    • via phone by calling our supporter relations team on 0800 716 146
    • sending a cheque to Supporter Relations team, PO Box 23897, 14 Links Place, Edinburgh, EH6 9AB
    • via the support of your community fundraiser or contacting our events team on london.marathon@mariecurie.org.uk.
  • You will only use sponsorship forms issued by Marie Curie, and all completed sponsorship forms with details of the names and addresses of sponsors with the amounts donated or pledged, will be sent to Marie Curie no later than four weeks after the event.

Age

  • You must meet the minimum age of 18 on race day to participate in the event.

Safety and fitness:

  • Before registering for this event, please make sure you feel able to take part health-wise; we recommend checking in with a doctor if you're not certain. If you have any medical conditions that might affect your taking part, let London Marathon Events know so they can find the best way to assist you.
  • You acknowledge and understand that the event may be potentially hazardous and that participation in any event is at your own risk. Your safety is of absolute importance to us. Make sure you follow all safety instructions and training procedures when taking part in events.
  • Marie Curie, its employees, agents and volunteers accept no liability in connection with your participation in the event or for those attending and cheering you on, when it comes to any loss or damage of any kind, including loss of profits, loss of business, loss or damage to goodwill, or indirect or consequential loss caused by or connected with your participation in the event. This excludes any liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents and volunteers, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
  • Marie Curie can't accept responsibility for any damage, injury or loss that might occur through your own negligence.
  • Marie Curie are not the event organisers and won't be held responsible or accept any liability for any injury or illness related to your training or taking part in this event to the extent such liability may be lawfully excluded.
  • You notify us immediately and/or within seven days of an events or incident that results you being unable to take part in an event.

Deferrals:

  • All charity place deferrals are at Marie Curie's absolute discretion and are not guaranteed.
  • We completely understand that things may not always go to plan, and we ask if you are unable to take part in the 2026 TCS London Marathon, please contact london.marathon@mariecurie.org.uk as soon as possible to discuss deferring.
  • All deferral requests will need to be discussed and agreed with the Events team at Marie Curie, but the following rules apply when deferring:
    • If you have raised a minimum of 50% of your fundraising commitment (£1,250) and haven't deferred on a previous occasion, you will be offered a deferral to the 2027 team.
    • If you have not hit a minimum of 50% of your fundraising commitment, but have raised something towards your fundraising target and you have requested your deferral before the London Marathon console closes, we will review your request on a case-by-case basis, taking into consideration the amount you've raised and the reasons for deferral.
    • If you have not raised anything towards your minimum fundraising target and/or asked to defer once the console has closed we will not be able to offer you a deferral to the 2027 team and will ask you to re-apply.
    • If you have you have deferred on a previous occasion, we cannot offer you a deferral for another year and you will need to re-apply.
  • If you are offered a deferral, your registration fee is not refundable, and you will be asked to re-pay your registration fee to secure your place in the 2027 event.
  • Any money you have raised can also be rolled over to count towards your fundraising total next time, but the minimum fundraising target may change annually at Marie Curie's discretion.
  • If you have a ballot place, you will need to contact the TCS London Marathon directly to discuss their deferral process.

Images, video and audio:

  • Any photos, video, audio or quotes taken by us on the event day may be used by Marie Curie to inspire future fundraisers and promote our events. If you don't want to be in any photos or videos or to be quoted in any way by Marie Curie, please let the team know by emailing london.marathon@mariecurie.org.uk.
  • Please read the organisers privacy statement carefully as the organisers may also use your image for television and film of the event. We have no control over the organisers use of your information and image as it will be in accordance with their privacy statement.
