The Palliative and End of Life Care Research Priority Setting Partnership is led by Marie Curie, with research support from University College London.
The project is independently overseen by the James Lind Alliance (JLA), a non-profit-making initiative, which is funded by the National Institute of Health Research. It aims to bring patients, carers and health care professionals together to identify and prioritise research questions to influence the prioritisation of future research in that area.
JLA advisers are independent consultants who support and guide Priority Setting Partnerships as neutral facilitators, to make sure that the process is followed in a fair and transparent way. They ensure equal input from the perspectives of patients, carers and clinicians.
Funding partners
We are very grateful for the support and co-funding from the Motor Neurone Disease Association and the Economic and Social Research Council.
The Steering group
A Steering group manages the project. It includes representation from people with lived experience and professionals. The group is led by Dr Louise Dunford and Mary Rose Tarpey, independent chairs from the JLA.

It provides advisory support to the project, ensuring that lived experience informs its key decisions, and helps identify priorities for palliative and end of life care research.
