Research Conference 2026

About the conference

The 2026 Marie Curie Research into Practice Conference took place virtually from 23 to 26 February 2026, and it focused on some of the top 24 priorities recently identified and prioritised by people with lived and professional experience in the refresh of the Palliative and end of life care Priority Setting Partnership with the James Lind Alliance.
This year we welcomed over 1,100 registrants from 40 different countries. All abstracts from the conference are published online in the BMJ Palliative and Supportive Care Journal. Catch up on the conference recordings:

Aims of the conference

The conference aims to bring together experts to ensure that evidence is widely disseminated to help close the gap in end of life care by improving the care and support people at the end of life, and the people who care for them and their carers, receive. To do this, we showcased the latest research and its potential translation into policy and practice, with a wide audience of practitioners, researchers, policy makers and anyone else with experience of, and interest in, palliative and end of life care. We were also keen to share the latest examples of service innovation, evaluation and improvement. This supports Marie Curie in our vision to improve end of life care for all.

Who can attend?

We continue to keep the conference free and open for all to attend. This supports our aim to make research and evidence accessible to everyone to support impact on practice and policy.
