Become a peer reviewer for Marie Curie’s research grants

Share
Applications to Marie Curie’s funding schemes are subject to external peer review by national and international experts who make recommendations to ensure we only fund the highest quality research.

Who can apply?

Marie Curie is looking to establish a College of Peer Reviewers interested in offering their support in reviewing applications for our research grants. The call is open to researchers (including clinicians and allied health professionals) at all career stages (Marie Curie is supportive of early career researchers and committed to being a diverse and inclusive charity) and across disciplines (eg clinical, social science and humanities) and research settings with expertise in palliative care research/research in a neighbouring field. While we are not looking for lived experience experts as part of this call, our Research Voices Group provides an opportunity for those with lived experience to support our research funding schemes.

What does it involve?

Members of the College of Peer Reviewers may be invited to review one or more applications for a funding scheme based on their expertise in a subject matter or particular methodology. They may also be invited to take part in Review Panels for our research funding calls (see Terms of Reference).
Marie Curie will not exclusively use members of the Peer Review College but will also sometimes approach other researchers to obtain expert reviews (e.g. where specific expertise is needed that is not held by members of our College).

What are the benefits of joining?

Becoming a member of the College of Peer Reviewers has a number of benefits. It provides researchers with a developmental opportunity to see research funding applications submitted by other researchers and membership can be added to their CV. To become a member of the College of Peer Reviewers for Marie Curie’s research grants, please complete the expression of interest form and return to research.grants@mariecurie.org.uk.
