Will you beat the Gower Coast path?

Take on either a 11 mile or 21 mile trail across the Gower Peninsula. You'll hike across the iconic Rhossili Bay – home to vast, open beaches with beautiful dunes and surfers out catching waves. If you're lucky, you might even spot some of the local wildlife, including Atlantic grey seals, dolphins and harbour porpoises! A short drive from the city of Swansea, the South Wales trail isn't far from the Marie Curie Hospice in Penarth. Whether you sign up to stride solo or with friends and family, Beat the Gower Coast will be an unforgettable experience. We'll be with you every step of the way, offering tailored training plans in the lead up to the hike and waiting for you with a glass of bubbly and medal at the finish line. Beat the Trails for Marie Curie and help people get the best care possible, to the end.

About the route

  1. Rhossili start: The route begins at the world‑famous National Trust’s Worms Head site in the stunning Rhossili Bay.
  2. Bay panorama: We’ll pass through The Vile (a rare example of medieval strip farming), before heading up to take in the full sweeping views of Rhossili Bay.
  3. Farm to coast: Enjoy gentle undulating farmland fields before rejoining the coastal path at Mewslade Bay.
  4. Worms Head return: We’ll head west to see Worms Head up close, then return through the beautiful Vile sunflower fields to the welcoming Worms Head finish, where your Beat the Trails medal and glass of fizz await.
The route is fully signed and our support teams can help keep you on track. The routes are subject to permission and changes. In the unlikely event of any changes, we'll be sure to let all participants know of any updates to the route.
