Will you beat the stunning Chiltern Hills?

Take on either a 10 mile or 20 mile hiking challenge through the breathtaking Chiltern Hills, a national landscape known for its rolling countryside, ancient woodlands, charming villages and sweeping views across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Beat the Chilterns promises a day filled with adventure, achievement and unforgettable scenery. Whether you sign up to stride solo or with friends and family, this event will be an unforgettable experience. We'll be with you every step of the way, offering tailored training plans in the lead up to the hike and waiting for you with a glass of bubbly and medal at the finish line. Beat the Trails for Marie Curie and help people get the best care possible, to the end.

About the route

  1. Chiltern Foothills start: Starting and finishing at Field Farm, this route is beautifully positioned at the foot of the Chilterns.
  2. Ridgeway Walking: Join the famous Ridgeway National Trail right from the outset to follow its ancient path.
  3. Quintessential English Villages: A National Landscape known for rolling countryside, ancient woodlands, charming and quaint villages. Every mile showcases the tranquillity and natural beauty that make the Chilterns such a special place to explore.
  4. Rolling Hills and Ancient Woodlands: Climb into the heart of the hills, where far‑reaching views reward your efforts. Across Oxfordshire Way and Chiltern Way, walkers will enjoy a rich mix of well‑maintained paths winding through peaceful woodland, open farmland, rolling hills. ancient and tranquil Shirburn Woods and Cowleaze Woods
  5. A final mile like no other: Emerging from the trees, you’ll enjoy breathtaking westward views across the surrounding countryside before descending towards Field Farm.

The route mostly consists of well-maintained bridleways, woodland trails and open field footpaths, with a few short tarmac quiet country road crossings.
