Our face-to-face fundraising
Find out more about face-to-face fundraising at Marie Curie, and see how it helps us fight for a better end of life for all.

What is face-to-face fundraising?
One of the ways we raise money is by meeting supporters face to face in places like retail outlets, offices, on doorsteps and on the street.
This kind of fundraising is really important as it allows us to secure long-term, regular donations from supporters. It also provides an opportunity to talk to people and find out why they support us and what they think of the work we do.
We currently operate two different kinds of face-to-face fundraising: Regular Giving in-house teams and door-to-door fundraising.

Regular Giving in-house teams
These teams visit private sites such as retail outlets, gyms, convenience stores and surgeries to talk about the work we do and encourage people to support us with regular gifts such as a direct debit or a lottery subscription.
They also provide lots of information about the services we provide and the difference our nurses make in the communities they serve. We get a lot of questions about volunteering, and we're always delighted to tell people about the various opportunities at Marie Curie.
Our teams generally work individually and the reception they receive is universally positive.

Door-to-door fundraising
Door-to-door fundraising is a safe, secure and proven method for us to recruit new direct debit donors. This results in long-term support that benefits people who use our caring services at a time when it's most needed.
All fundraising agencies we use are members of the Fundraising Standards Board. They have committed to following the Code of Fundraising Practice and the Fundraising Promise.
Our fundraising promise
We're committed to the highest standards of fundraising practice. All our fundraisers receive training from a member of the Marie Curie team. We also regularly mystery shop our fundraisers to ensure they are following our agreed standards.
If you'd like to make a complaint about the behaviour of our fundraisers or have a query about our face-to-face activity, please contact our Supporter Relations Team on 0800 716 146. You can also fill in an online form.
