When days are few, they’re precious. But many people in Scotland miss out on the palliative care and support they need because of poverty, where they live, who they are, or what their diagnosis is.
The next Scottish Government must act.

It’s time to take action
The next Scottish Parliament Election will be held on Thursday 7 May 2026. Together we can make sure that the next Scottish Government commit to fixing palliative and end of life care in Scotland for good.
This means recognising that everyone should have a right to palliative care, and ensuring that nobody in Scotland misses out.
Because of changing demographics, by 2040 an extra 10,000 people across Scotland are likely to need access to palliative and end of life each year. Unless the next Scottish Government acts fast, our already overstretched health systems will be under extreme pressure, and more people will die in pain and in poverty.
The next Scottish Government must make sure that palliative care is a right, not a privilege. Tell them to act. Sign our petition below.
We’re calling on the next Scottish Government to...
The next Scottish Government must recognise that everyone should have a right to palliative care in Scotland. This means:
- Everyone in Scotland knows what care and support they can expect at the end of life
- Palliative care is sustainably funded
- Workforces are fully resourced to plan ahead.
