Discover how the Daffodil Standards can help you support people living with a terminal illness in the best way

GP practices and community pharmacies play a key role in providing palliative and bereavement care for people living with terminal illness and their families. The Daffodil Standards provides a simple approach that will make a big difference to patients, families and staff.

Daffodil Standards for GPs

Created in partnership with the Royal Collage for General Practitioners, the Daffodil Standards is a free, evidence-based, structured approach designed to help your GP practice feel empowered to improve the end of life care you provide in manageable, practical ways which suit you and your staff.

Daffodil Standards for pharmacies

We’ve designed the Daffodil Standards for community pharmacy teams and individual pharmacists in partnership with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, adapted from the Daffodil Standards for GPs. They reflect how pharmacies work and are aimed to help your pharmacy to consistently offer the best end of life care for patients.

The Daffodil Standards can help teams develop a compassionate culture, with earlier identification of when someone will need support, and with sensitively involving a patient's family in their care.
I would recommend signing up to the Daffodil Standards to help you achieve step-by-step improvements in delivering the best end of life care for patients.
