Belfast Hospice goes green

Over the last couple of months we have adopted a range of alternative and cost-effective ways to recycle waste at the Marie Curie Hospice, Belfast.

In December we started working with a local company to recycle all paper waste. The company provides the recycling boxes and shredding bags we use at a low-cost refundable deposit. And the best bit is that the collections are provided for an unlimited period – at no cost at all.

In January we started a recycling scheme with the same company for kitchen waste and recyclable items that is more cost effective than the same scheme with the local council.

And we recently took possession of a recycling box for batteries, which will be a free service also!

We want to do lots more so watch this space for more recycling news.
